November 20th is Universal Children's Day, since 1954, but it is also the Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Children's Rights, which occurred in 1959. This day serves to raise awareness among the population around the world about how children are the most vulnerable group, above all, in crisis situations and problems.
World Children's Day is a great opportunity to raise awareness in schools and in society in general. It is important to know that childhood is an unrepeatable and crucial stage of life and that all children must be protected, safe, and provided with health and education, regardless of where they are born.
For this reason, some large brands wanted to honor this important day through the creation of advertising campaigns, which managed to impact the viewer through an emotional message. These companies have managed to focus their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in an optimal way, achieving that their activity generates on their clients and society, in general, a vision on the subject that they probably did not consider before.
Although hundreds of campaigns are created around this day worldwide every year, this article has focused more on those that teach us the true reality of the world in which children live in. The article provides an insight into topics such as poverty, war, and terror. In total, 4 of the best-known campaigns have been chosen so that the reader understands better what this important day is all about.
SAVE THE CHILDREN
The spot for the NGO Save the Children shows aspects of the daily life of a girl in London; playing with her friends and enjoying a family birthday. But things change in the middle of the spot with the outbreak of a war. What the images show is fear, lack of food and medicine, people fleeing from their countries, reflecting what children of their age have to endure while living in Syria.
The civil war in Syria has claimed the lives of more than 100,000 children and more than 2.3 million have had to flee their homes.
The goal of this powerful campaign is to raise awareness about the refugee crisis that affects thousands of children. A great campaign that makes us reflect on the ability we have to continue with our lives regardless of what may be happening in other parts of the planet. This idea is expressed at the end thought the sentence: "Just because it isn´t happening here, it doesn´t mean it isn´t happening."
BENNETON UNHATE FOUNDATION
This brand made a total of seven posters with the aim of showing the main problems that threaten the dignity and integrity of children in the world. Among them are pedophilia, sex tourism, the Syrian Civil War, the free arms trade, trafficking in human organs, obesity, and nuclear pollution.
These posters show each of these threats embodied in a human figure with arms placed in a cross and with the child placed on his back as a crucifixion. The company points out that the choice of the cross is intended to show the pain endured by the victims, as well as the factors that threaten the rights of children.
UNICEF- YOU ARE NO MORE THAN A CHILD
As expected, UNICEF also wanted to be part of this special day and for this reason, it published a video entitled "You are not more than a child", in which it is proven that a child can become much more than what we imagine.
The video shows the story of the children and young activists who managed to change the world and generate an impact internationally thanks to their initiative and activism. Phrases such as you will understand when you are older” and “you are just a child” are mentioned. Characters such as Greta Thunberg (a young activist who has achieved a global movement against climate change) and Malala Yousafzai (a Pakistani student, activist, and blogger, winner of the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize) appear.
The message this campaign wants to convey is that children are increasingly claiming their rights and taking more and more actions to have a better future. That is why we should stop saying that they are only children and start listening to them and supporting them more.
UNICEF- SWEET TRICK
UNICEF also carried out a campaign as a social experiment in order to show us that these situations occur on a daily basis, and we are not aware of it. In this case, they want to make parents aware about hay they should be more careful with their children, since, as previously mentioned, they are one of the most vulnerable groups and need more protection than the rest.
The experiment in question is about a person who disguises himself as edible cotton candy. The children, without hesitation, go to him to get the candy running. What the video means to us by this is that "it is that easy for a pedophile to attract a child" and that "we are vigilant." It is a great example of the harsh reality that exists in places full of children, such as parks or schools, and therefore we must all do our part to prevent child sexual abuse.
As has been observed, these campaigns show very harsh images, but they are chosen to impact the mind of each one of us. In light of this information, we could say that there are many reasons to celebrate the Children´s day by raising awareness of child well-being, welfare and rights, as well as showing appreciation for our children, the future of society.

I really like the third one “you are not more than a child”, how kids demonstrates how responsible they are and how matures, sometimes much more than their parents.
I hate when someone says to a child “you will understand when you are older” or “you are just a kid”. People should try to explain to the kids everything they want to know in an objective way so they can learn and understand what is going on.
I think it is so important to do special campaigns about this day because it is underrated and it is so important to the humanity to influence them and advert about how are some child’s life.
This also make a helping and solidarity image to those brands which make different campaigns about this day. And it should be without profit spirit.
Every year many companies carry out campaigns telling the reality of some children and their situation in some cases more unfavorable than others.
If I had to choose only one of these four, I think I would choose the one from unicef because it is the one that has caught my attention, showing the power of children and their imagination.
