8 STEPS TO CREATE AN E-COMMERCE

Nowadays it is possible to sell your products all over the world without having to have great computer skills and without a large investment of money. Thanks to new technology this is possible.

Because of the COVID-19 crisis many traditional shops have been forced to adapt their sales strategy. This sanitary situation experienced in recent months has accelerated the digital transformation of shops. It is therefore very important to know how to set up an online shop.

1- Choose the name and domain of your e-commerce site

Choosing a good domain name is important for e-commerce.

The company name and domain name should be as short as possible and easy to remember and spell.

If the domain contains one of our keywords, the search engines will rank us better.

2- Choose a good hosting company

The choice of hosting company is one of the few investments you will make to create an e-commerce. In this step we must not skimp on expenses as it is the basis of the whole development.

An e-commerce website must be fast as this will help with search engine positioning. If a website is slow and takes a long time to load, there will be a high bounce rate. Potential customers will not wait for the page to load and will go to a competitor.

There are different platforms that help you create a website quickly and securely. One of them is Shopify, it has different tools such as free templates, a web builder or integrations with the main payment gateways. All this will help you create your website in less than 24 hours.

3- Choose a good reseller

Having a good distribution company is key to good e-commerce. The company must be respectful of both the product and the customer. In the end, when a customer places an order, the first thing they see is the packaging and the distribution company must take this into account so as not to damage it. The distributor must also meet delivery deadlines, never delay the delivery of an order. If we do not choose the right distributor, the image of the company will be damaged and we will not get satisfied customers.

Carry out tests before contracting one.

4- Customise your products online

Many e-commerce companies upload their products to the website automatically and in a short time. This is not ideal as all products on the website should have a personalised description. In this description you can include information about its use, a detailed description so that the user can imagine the product without being able to touch it.

This is beneficial for a good organic positioning in search engines.

Images also influence purchasing decisions. The company must ensure that the images are of good quality and that the details of the product can be perceived correctly.

The most important thing is to be original and let your imagination flow in order to differentiate yourself from the competition.

5- Variety of payment methods

It is very important that we offer as many payment methods as possible. There are many people who are still reluctant to shop online. These people use the cash on delivery method, the customer only pays when he receives the package, and you can also include payment methods with different banks.

There are different tools such as Paypal with which customers are charged by credit card. The problem with this tool is the high commissions that Paypal charges for each transaction. Still it is a good payment method as it is very popular in e-commerce.

6- Create a blog

Creating a blog is a very practical solution to improve the SEO of your website. Many times you can't put a long description on the product or create value in the product descriptions. This is why creating a blog will attract organic traffic to your shop.

In this blog you can deal with topics of the sector or even promote your own products. Little by little this will position us better and will bring us quality traffic and customers who will be willing to buy our products.

7- Create online advertising campaigns

One of the benefits of online advertising is that it is very economical. Thanks to different tools we can check which campaigns are effective and are creating new customers or visits to the website and which are not.

This will help us to better distribute the budget and avoid unnecessary losses.

Another benefit is that advertising can be done in a scalable way. At first you can put a little money into certain social networks, then if you see that it works, you can increase that investment and even withdraw it.

One of the tools to use to get started in online advertising is Google Ads. It is used to offer sponsored advertising to potential advertisers.

8- Work on online marketing

You need to create your own online marketing strategy, including a social media strategy, competitions, press releases... The aim is to make your brand known, improve your online presence and your positioning on Google.

There is no point in striving to have the best products or the best prices if nobody knows your brand. That is why online marketing actions must be carried out to achieve sufficient sales. Online marketing should be done from the creation of the brand.

One of the online marketing strategies is to send an email reminder of the cart that the customer left abandoned on the website. We must try to avoid as many abandoned purchases as possible.

Thanks to online commerce, a great door has opened for countless small businesses that could not afford the large outlay involved in the creation of a physical store, plus today there are different platforms for management and control in a simple way.

I think the tips you mention are fundamental and of great value for all those who are thinking of taking the big leap.

As you say in the post, one of the most important things is to generate valuable content and make a good management of keywords so that our positioning is high and so our real or potential customers can find us easily.

As the post comments; Nowadays it is possible to sell your products all over the world without having to have great computer skills and without a large investment of money, and this was completely unthinkable a few years ago.

In the current times and with the big health crisis we are living due to Covid-19, e-commerce has opened a great business opportunity for those who know how to take advantage of its possibilities.
Consumers are now completely accustomed to shopping online and for example payment procedures are becoming more and more diverse and secure, thanks to products such as PayPal, for example.

This brings the consumer much more closer to the online shopping experience, with more confidence and already fully adapted to the use.
The tips or keys that we can read in this publication seem to me great and I completely agree that if you manage to achieve these 8 steps, your ecommerce will succeed on the internet and will arouse a great interest for your customers and future customers!!

It is an article related to the previous one since they both deal with e-commerce, which is a strategy that is growing remarkably over the years since it is very easy to create since with only a computer and skill you can create your own page about what you want whether it is selling clothes, video games etc.
And it also explains the main steps to follow to create a good online page, first of all choosing a good name with hook, the design that is correct and orderly, these are the 2 most important of the 8 steps.

Facebook is the perfect example of what the data economy represents in today's society. Data is one of the most valuable assets for companies today, and they get it by using strategies such as cookies on their websites. Facebook was for many years the most profitable social network on the planet, and it has achieved this in part thanks to the fact that it has filtered an infinite amount of data about its users to companies. This data is valuable because it directs companies to what their consumers are looking for and they can shape their products and advertising accordingly. More protective legislation should be prepared to protect users' data on the Internet to avoid falling into this obvious invasion of their privacy for business purposes.

I find this post very useful because it has made me see what are the main problems that have the creation of an e-commerce. Many people think that opening an e-commerce in the days we live in is very easy since the only thing you need is a computer. To all of them I would recommend that they read this post to see everything that is needed and to see that the process of elaboration is much more complex than it seems. To all this I would add that this type of business is booming due to the circumstances in which the pandemic has left us.

I found this post very useful. Any company that offers a product or service should offer itself in the online channel. Some of them are simply present in the traditional channel, i.e. a physical shop. You may currently do very well following this "traditional sales technique", but you will be able to get much more out of your shop if you complement it with an online portal.

This will not involve a large monetary investment and the return you could get from this investment can be enormous.

I would recommend all owners to inform themselves on the subject and try to introduce or improve their ecommerce.
